Tampere Flows - Towards a Carbon-neutral City

Tampere is growing rapidly. The increase in the population, jobs and services is threatening to raise energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. To avoid this, we need bold goals and new innovations for city planning. This is why Tampere has launched the ECO₂ - Eco-efficient Tampere 2020 project.

TOWARDS TARGETS WITH THE HELP OF PROJECTS

ECO₂ – Eco-efficient Tampere 2020 implements the climate and energy objectives of the City of Tampere. The programme supports projects that promote a low-carbon and carbon-neutral urban structure.

ECO2 – Eco-efficient Tampere 2020 is a City of Tampere project,whose implementation in 2010–2012 is supported by Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund. Tampere is aiming to make this intoa strategic project that will continue until 2020.
